I would not recommend Godaddy to any new website builders. The main reason, their website. It is an absolute nightmare to navigate. Yes, they are relatively cheap and my site never goes down, but if I need to complete something on the site or navigate between domain hosting accounts it takes forever to just find the correct link on the most busy site

The people are great, you aren't on hold on the phone long at all. Good company for experienced people. But you pay for each item you need. Parking a domain, e-mail, hosting and anything else you want is extra.

When I drew up a short list of possible hosts I had GoDaddy near the top but not quite, but I took a chance because of the attractive overall feel of the package. The price is not the cheapest but is very good yet the deal itself is well worth taking on. A wide range of facilities and features makes it a great buy, and I’ve found the system easy to use, set up straightforward and everything very user friendly. I can report that reliability is top notch and the technical response time is very quick indeed – GoDaddy hasn’t let me down.

I recently applied for a web hosting service with JustHost and the company demanded that I send a copy of my passport and a copy of my credit card to validate the purchase. I thought it odd but did comply – with the exception of the copy of the credit card itself.
When I found out that they had already charged my credit card I sent an email and asked why…and they refused to explain this rather simple question, they only demanded the copy of my credit card again.
T hat made me suspicious and I canceled my purchase. Now, 5 days later, I still have not seen the funds returned.
My first contact was with “Gabe” and there I had no complaints… then a “Nick” took over and it was his arrogant reply that made me cancel the purchase… and all I asked was why they had charged my account and then refused to deliver the “goods”.
Later I used GoDaddy and in less than an hour my website was up and running…so I do not give any high marks for JustHost customer service – it is nonexistent if you happen to get the wrong person to handle your communication.

My client’s web+mail shared server went down the first business day we were using lunarpages (Oct 2008)! Then there were problems two days later, and again a month later. Today 15 June, 2010, the shared server went down again for two hours. Each time, I’ve been on hold for 20-30 minutes before getting through.
Contrast – my other clients using godaddy.com have had almost no problems, and when I have to call tech support, I’m connected within 0-3 minutes.
Conclusion – goodbye, lunar pages.

I am a professional and I use their shared hosting service with no problem. I love their plan (Deluxe) with the unlimited Add-on domains and I have more than 10 domains with Wordpress installed. I would say they are better for professionals because their control panel takes some getting use to. They do not use cPanel, so some experience with web hosting jargons such DNS, FTP, PHPmyAdmin etc would help. I also heard their phone support is good although I never had any need to use them.

Godaddy vs Name Cheap?

I have been with Godaddy for years and loved their service.
Alot of IMs will recommand name cheap as their prices are much lower than Godaddy.
But for me, I look for quality service rather than price. But not unless you buy domain names in bulk, I really do not see a big difference, unless you are buying a domain not for commercial purposes. By that I would mean, you are not buying a domain name to make any money.
Because when you find the right coupon for either websites, the prices are fairly close. It all comes down to personal preferences.
I do not have a lot of domain names registered, but when I registered with one, I do not want to register with another, simply for better domain management.
Godaddy's support team is excellent! I never have to wait for more than 2 mins when I call, and their knowledge is beyond what they should know. They solve problems efficiently, and I always rate close to a 5/5 for their service everytime I call.

That means I can save a lot of money and use it for other purposes instead.
I have no complaints against GoDaddy. They're simply the best if you're planning to buy domain names.
